If signed into law, the CPI for Seniors Act would direct the Bureau of Labor Statistics to prepare and publish a monthly index called the Consumer Price Index for Seniors (CPI-S). The CPI-S would track the spending habits of individuals who are 62 years of age or older.
Rep. John Duncan, Jr. (TN-2) introduced H.R. 1086 on March 15, 2011. It has since been referred to the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
