If signed into law, the Seniors Protection Act would ensure that seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities who receive Social Security and certain other benefits receive a one-time $250 payment due to there being no cost-of-living adjustment in 2011.
Rep. Joseph Crowley (NY-7) introduced H.R. 2590 on July 19, 2011. It has since been referred to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials.
