If signed into law, Legislation to Prevent Social Security Credit from Being Earned Without Legal Status would prevent Social Security credit from being earned for work done by persons while they were not a U.S. citizen or national, and were in the U.S. illegally.
Sen. David Vitter (LA) introduced S. 95 on January 25, 2011. It has since been referred to the Committee on Finance.
