Legislative Update for Week Ending August 8, 2014

This week, Members of Congress returned to their home states and districts to begin the month-long August recess.

August Recess Begins

On Monday, Members of the House and Senate traveled to their home states and districts for the first week of the August recess. They are expected to return to Capitol Hill on Monday, September 8th. In the meantime, many Members of Congress will attend local events and hold town hall meetings, giving constituents an excellent opportunity to voice their concerns and have their most pressing questions answered.

The following Members of Congress, among others, will hold town hall meetings this week: Sen. Ron Johnson (WI), Sen. Tom Coburn (OK), Sen. Johnny Isakson (GA), Sen. Jerry Moran (KS), Rep. Randy Neugebauer (TX-19), Rep. Todd Rokita (IN-4), Rep. Jared Polis (CO-2), Rep. David Valadao (CA-21), Rep. Andy Harris (MD-1), Rep. Vance McAllister (LA-5), Rep. Scott Tipton (CO-3), Rep. John Shimkus (IL-15), Rep. Susan Brooks (IN-5), Rep. Tom McClintock (CA-4), Rep. Todd Young (IN-9), Rep. Raul Ruiz (IN-4), Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15), and Rep. Marc Veasey (TX-33).

The Senior Citizens League (TSCL) urges its members and supporters to make the most of the August recess by attending town hall meetings.
