H.R. 1776, Improving Access to Affordable Prescription Drugs Act

H.R. 1776, Improving Access to Affordable Prescription Drugs Act

If signed into law, H.R. 1776 would improve access to affordable prescription drugs by requiring the federal government to negotiate prices, allowing the importation of drugs from Canada, accelerating the closing of the Part D doughnut hole, and capping monthly prescription drug expenses at $250, among other things.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (IL-9) introduced H.R. 1776 on March 29, 2017. It has since been referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.
