If enacted, H.R. 4521 would streamline the application process for senior citizens to receive help from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The bill would also encourage collaboration between local Social Security offices and the SNAP program to help seniors at risk of hunger enroll in both benefits simultaneously.
Rep. Albert Lawson (FL-5) introduced H.R. 4521 on December 1, 2017. The bill has since been referred to the Committee on Agriculture, and in addition to the Committees on Ways and Means, and Energy and Commerce.
