Legislative Update for Week Ending November 2, 2012

This week, action on Capitol Hill was slow as Members of Congress remained in their home states and districts to prepare for the upcoming election. Lawmakers are expected to return to Capitol Hill on Tuesday, November 13th, to begin the lame-duck session.

Congressional Recess Continues as Election Nears

The Senior Citizens League (TSCL) would like to remind you that Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th. Contact your local government if you require voting assistance. In most states, those who have trouble casting a ballot due to physical barriers are entitled to request assistance.

Also, in the days leading up to the election many candidates will make appearances at local events, giving concerned voters an excellent opportunity to have their questions addressed. We encourage you to approach your Senators, Representatives, and candidates to request their support for fair cost-of-living adjustments and other key issues affecting seniors.
