S. 2653, Elder Poverty Relief Act

If signed into law, S. 2653 would create a new poverty relief benefit for Americans over the age of 82, those with low monthly Social Security benefits, SSI recipients who have reached the full retirement age, and Social Security beneficiaries who have received benefits for twenty years or more.

Sen. Ron Wyden (OR) introduced S. 2653 on April 12, 2018. It has since been referred to the Committee on Finance.
