S. 3147, Social Security Administration Fairness Act

If signed into law, S. 3147 would permanently set the funding for the Social Security Administration's administrative expenses at 1.5 percent of overall benefit payments, implement a moratorium on field office closures, and eliminate two waiting periods for Social Security Disability Insurance recipients.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT) introduced S. 3147 on June 27, 2018. It has since been referred to the Committee on Finance.
