Daisy Brown - Legislative Liaison

Secretary

Daisy Brown is an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve in which she served from 1976 - 1983. She worked in the accounting office and later transferred to become the Chaplain’s Assistant until she was discharged.

When not serving in the Army Reserve Daisy worked full time as a legal secretary and medical office manager/transcriptionist. She retired in 2015 after having worked since 1969 with several successful firms. Prior to entering the workforce Daisy attended Morgan State University where she majored in Home Economics.

In 1971 she became a part of The Chi-Lites organization and served in several capacities including road manager. She met and managed many artists thereafter including Archie Bell. The legendary Brooklyn Allstars recorded songs penned by Daisy including the ever popular “You Were There Mother.”

In 2004 she became a life member of Associates of the Vietnam Veterans (AVVA).

She joined TREA (The Enlisted Association) Chapter 9 in 2012 and has served as its secretary since joining.

She currently produces Soul School Music with Marshall Thompson-The Last Man Standing of The Chi-Lites and continues traveling the world when they go on the road.

She is also the Executive Producer and host of Called to Serve military radio show.

In her spare time she enjoys sewing, arts and crafts, writing poetry, cooking, photography, and videography.

In June 2019 Daisy joined the American Legions Post 285 Auxiliary Unit to serve as its Secretary.

She was also appointed  to The Senior Citizens League in September of 2019. She looks forward to many years of dedicated service.
