H.R. 155, Notch Fairness Act

H.R. 155, Notch Fairness Act

If signed into law, the Notch Fairness Act would amend the Social Security Act to allow workers born between 1917-1926, often referred to as Notch Babies, to choose between a $5,000 lump-sum compensation that is payable in four annual installments, or an increased monthly benefit based on a pre-determined calculation.

Rep. Mike McIntyre (NC-7) introduced H.R. 155 on January 4, 2013. The bill has been referred to the Committee on Ways and Means, where it is pending further action.
