If signed into law, H.R. 3961 would require the establishment of a Consumer Price Index for Elderly Consumers to compute cost-of-living increases for Social Security and Medicare benefits.
Rep. Peter DeFazio (OR-4) introduced H.R. 3961 on November 5, 2015. It has since been referred to the Committee on Ways and Means and to the Committee on Energy and Commerce.
