H.R. 4104, Savings on Medical Expenses for Seniors Act

H.R. 4104, Savings on Medical Expenses for Seniors Act

If signed into law, the Savings on Medical Expenses for Seniors Act would amend the Internal Revenue Code to make the 7.5 percent threshold for the medical expense deduction permanent for those 65 and older. The threshold is currently scheduled to increase to 10 percent of adjusted gross income beginning in 2017.

Rep. Gloria Negrete McLeod (CA-35) introduced H.R. 4104 on February 27, 2014. It has since been referred to the Committee on Ways and Means where it awaits further action.
