This week, action on Capitol Hill was slow as both chambers of Congress adjourned for the spring recess.
Lawmakers Break for Spring Recess
This week was slow on Capitol Hill due to the spring recess. Lawmakers in the Senate are expected to return to Washington on Monday, April 4th, while those in the House will return on Tuesday, April 12th. In the meantime, several Members of Congress will be holding town hall meetings in their home states and districts, giving constituents an excellent opportunity to voice their concerns and have their most pressing questions answered.
The following Members of Congress, among others, will hold town halls this week: Sen. Bill Cassidy (LA), Sen. Tom Cotton (AR), Sen. Johnny Isakson (GA), Rep. Markwayne Mullin (OK-2), Rep. Beto O’Rourke (TX-16), Rep. Greg Walden (OR-2), Rep. Brad Sherman (CA-30), Rep. Elijah Cummings (MD-7), Rep. Bill Flores (TX-17), Rep. Gwen Graham (FL-2), Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-5), Rep. Ted Yoho (FL-3), Rep. Tim Huelskamp (KS-1), Rep. Tom McClintock (CA-4), Rep. Lee Zeldin (NY-1), and Rep. Tom Rice (SC-7).
TSCL encourages its members and supporters to make the most of the spring recess by attending town hall meetings. For more information or to see if your elected officials will be holding town halls in the coming days, call their local offices. You can find contact information HERE.
