This week, action was slow on Capitol Hill as Members of Congress adjourned for a week-long holiday recess.
Lawmakers Adjourn for Holiday Recess
Last Friday, lawmakers in the House and Senate adjourned for a week-long Memorial Day recess. They are expected to return to Capitol Hill on Monday, June 6th. In the meantime, many Members of Congress will be attending local events and holding town hall meetings, presenting constituents with excellent opportunities to have their most pressing questions answered.
TSCL encourages its members and supporters to attend these events and to voice their concerns about important Social Security and Medicare issues like inadequate cost-of-living adjustments and skyrocketing prescription drug prices.
The following Members of Congress, among many others, will be holding town hall meetings in the final days of this week’s recess: Sen. Jerry Moran (KS), Sen. Ron Wyden (OR), Rep. Michael Conaway (TX-11), Rep. Tim Huelskamp (KS-1), Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (WI-5), Rep. Ted Yoho (FL-3), Rep. Jim Langevin (RI-2), and Rep. Thomas Massie (KY-4).
