If signed into law, the Social Security Lock-Box Act would establish a procedure to safeguard the Social Security Trust Funds and prevent lawmakers from using the monies for unrelated purposes.
Sen. David Vitter (LA) introduced S. 110 on January 23, 2013. The bill has been referred to the Committee on the Budget, where it is pending further action.
