S. 90, Notch Fairness Act

S. 90, Notch Fairness Act

If signed into law, the Notch Fairness Act would amend the Social Security Act to allow workers born between 1917-1926, often referred to as Notch Babies, to choose between a $5,000 lump-sum compensation that is payable in four annual installments, or an increased monthly benefit based on a pre-determined calculation.

Sen. David Vitter (LA) introduced S. 90 on January 23, 2013. The bill has been referred to the Committee on Finance, where it is pending further action.
