The fall recess continued this week as Members of Congress prepared for next week’s mid-term elections.
Pre-Election Recess Continues
Members of the House and Senate remained in their home states and districts to focus on the upcoming mid-term elections, which will occur next week, on November 4th. They are expected to return to Washington to begin the “lame duck” session on November 12th, following the Veterans Day holiday.
In the days leading up to Tuesday’s elections, The Senior Citizens League (TSCL) encourages its members and supporters to fully prepare to make their voices heard. Voters should ensure that they are registered, verify their voting location, confirm the opening and closing times, and plan how they will get there. In addition, it’s never too late to research the issues and decide which ones matter the most to you.
You can view TSCL’s key issues HERE, and to research the candidates that will be on your ballot, we recommend using PROJECT VOTE SMART – a website that provides free and unbiased information on all candidates. Don’t forget to get out and vote on Tuesday, November 4th, and be sure to check back on Friday for an update on the election results.
