Notch Legislation Introduced In The 110th Congress

Congressman Ralph Hall (R-TX) reintroduced the Notch Fairness Act, H.R. 368, on January 10, 2007. This legislation would give individuals born in the Notch years an option of a $5,000 lump-sum benefit payable over four years or an improved monthly benefit.

We applaud Congressman Hall for his efforts and are equally pleased that Representatives Mary Bono (CA), Paul Gillmor (OH), Bart Gordon (TN), Carolyn Maloney (NY), Thaddeus McCotter (MI), Ron Paul (TX), Adam Schiff (CA), and Robert Wexler (FL) signed on as original co-sponsors. With support from both sides of the aisle, you can rest assured that TSCL will continue working to ensure this vital legislation receives the attention it deserves.
